The AIA Orange County EDI Committee Presents:

Equity in Technology Design

Attendees will learn about technologies to consider when designing Educational and Healthcare spaces that support diversity, equity, and inclusion. T hey will have the opportunity to discover approaches to design with EDI in mind and dive into different options that are being implemented in projects today.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the importance and impact of equitable design in technology.

  • Share technologies utilized to promote equity and inclusivity in Education and Technology.

  • Describe the thought process to include thoughtful technology design.

  • Learn discussion points to share with clients on equitable design in technology.

Presenters:

MICHAEL DANNENNBERG - Vantage Technology Consulting Group. As the Director of New and Emerging Technologies, Michael's project experience often encompasses exploring how technology can best enable community and the efficient use of shared resources. Known for his innovative solutions and creative approaches, he has worked on a wide variety of award-winning facilities including education, corporate, and public spaces. With over 30 years of technical project management and systems engineering experience, Michael helps to create environments that are both engaging and secure.

JAMIE O'BARD - Vantage Technology Consulting Group. As the Director of Project Management, Jamie oversees the daily operations and development of our Project Managers. She ensures that each project has the attention, dedication, and organization from Project Managers and the technical expertise from Subject Matter Experts resulting in successful projects. Her experience as a draftsperson, technical understanding as a designer, and expertise as a project manager, forms her holistic approach and understanding of the entirety of the design process and setting accurate expectations of deadlines and budgets. Clients value her explanations of complex systems, advocacy for end-user functionality, and realistic project projections.
