Powder coating is a dry finishing process known for durability, performance, and a smooth application process on many products from everyday appliances to tough machinery. This learning unit will take an in-depth look at powder coatings while outlining the history of their development. We will illustrate the powder-coating application process, review specifications, and compare the benefits of nontoxic powder coatings to liquid finishes, all while emphasizing the advantages to our health and the environment.

  • Look at the history of powder coating.
  • Review the powder coating application process and how it has evolved over the years.
  • Understand the advantages of powder coating over liquid coatings.
