The Great Park Ice and FivePoint Arena
The Great Park Ice and FivePoint Arena combine the largest community ice complex in California with a new training facility for the NHLs Anaheim Ducks and the United States Figure Skating Team. The building features four indoor ice rinks three NHL regulation rinks and one Olympic regulation rink a full-service restaurant and sports bar, a pro shop, a café, and a gym. The project is certified LEED Silver.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn how the mechanical systems were designed to utilize reclaimed water to decrease water usage.
Attendees will learn about energy modeling to increase thermal efficiency.
Attendees will learn about drought-tolerant landscapes to decrease the use of potable water.
Attendees will learn about how accessibility features were incorporated into the various feature of this facility including, outdoor areas, general exhibition seating, and the ice rinks.
