Attendees will tour the Tustin Legacy Park and recently opened, Bark Barracks Dog Park plus other site amenities. During this approximately one-mile walking tour, attendees will learn about ADA applications and how they are applied to the various types of uses within the park. The uses include: ramps, seating, parking, playground, access to restrooms, and general movement through the park.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will learn about the application of ADA accessibility design in park-like settings and how to implement ADA design in outdoor environments to keep individuals with mobility issues safe.
  • Attendees will learn how to modify existing site conditions to bring them to current ADA code compliance, utilizing CBC 11b and CCR Title 24.
  • Attendees will discuss the importance of incorporating ADA design during the initial design phase and which code to follow to make the project compliant and safe for persons with disabilities.
