Accessible Signage
Are you looking for a program to meet the California Architects Board ADA course requirement? AIA Orange County is offering you an opportunity to earn 1.5 qualifying hours for your 2023 license renewal. If you have already fulfilled your 2023 CAB Accessibility hours and are within 23 months of your next CAB renewal, these hours can be applied toward your 2025 CAB license renewal.
Description:
Attendees will review the required accessibility signage and the attributes required for compliance. Overview of requirements, review of examples of actual installations, shop drawings, and common mistakes made.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will review and discuss different sign types; text, symbols, and geometric signs.
Attendees will learn when compliance is required.
Overview of attributes required for compliance.
Attendees will review common mistakes made.

Presenter’s Bio:
Ms. Afshar is an AIA member architect with over 30 years of experience in commercial and public facilities, with a focus on interior architecture and accessibility. She has been involved with Access-related work since 1991. Ms. Afshar is also CID, LEED AP, and CASp certified.
