The Practical Guide to All-Electric, Lower Cost MF Buildings with EV Charging

This course is designed to provide developers, contractors, architects, and engineers with the confidence and know-how to build all-electric, future-proofed, Multifamily buildings with the advantage of EV charging.  This class will demonstrate, with actual examples, how all-electric Multifamily buildings are easier and less costly to build, maintain and operate.  It will also confirm that all-electric MF buildings are better for the health, safety, and lifestyle of their tenants (things they can actively promote to City Officials and prospective tenants). Finally, it will show that EV chargers are a must-have amenity for the people who will call these buildings home and a revenue source for the building owner.

The course will give attendees proven methodologies for proactively seizing this opportunity and avoiding the pitfalls we see all too frequently.  That includes the tools to manage an integrated design process and bring the project to a successful conclusion.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of completing this course, participants will do the following:

1.    Understand the Title 24 and CalGreen codes as they apply to all-electric multifamily buildings and EV charging and how to meet their minimum requirements.

2.    Learn the difference in first costs to the builder and utility costs to the residents of all-electric multifamily buildings and the revenue possible through installing EV chargers for residents to use.

3.    Take advantage of incentives to futureproof new multifamily buildings with EV chargers and all-electric designs.

4.    Understand the health, lifestyle, and climate reasons that make all-electric multifamily buildings equipped with EV chargers more compelling to market to residents.
