URBANPLAN Discovering the Fundamental Forces in Development

Students will participate in a realistic, engaging exercise that teaches the fundamental forces that affect development in their communities. Participants will explore the challenging issues, private and public sector roles, complex trade-offs, and fundamental economics in play when proposing realistic land use solutions to vexing growth challenges. The workshop is an engaging simulation workshop that focuses on real estate development. Participants will engage in the deeply complex nature of land use decisions, and will leave the workshop inspired to take active role as engaged citizens to create better communities.
