Course Description:
This presentation focuses on the best specification and application processes for the use of interior gypsum board assemblies also known as "Drywall.”
Learning Objectives – Attendees will learn:
Understand the definition of gypsum board, the common industry terms, and components used in the application of gypsum board. Plus, be familiar with the industry standards governing the installation of gypsum board.
Differentiate the types of gypsum board available and understand the accessory components used in the installation process.
Understand the five levels of Gypsum board finish in order to specify the correct level of finish for your project.
Understand the jobsite conditions required for the installation of gypsum board, be introduced to common installation issues and the relationship between architectural specification and installation.
Learn about fire rated assemblies and understand how gypsum relates to fire resistance.
Analyze how Gypsum Wall board assemblies can satisfy the new energy/green code requirements for sound/STC ratings.
