Course Description:



An examination of embedded anchoring systems including how and why they should be specified and installed in concrete superstructures to achieve permanent attachment points that will improve job site safety and create environmental benefits over the full lifecycle of a structure.

Learning Objectives:


  • An overview of job site safety with particular attention paid to falls and respirable crystalline silica (silica dust) and their impact on the health, safety and welfare of job site personnel and the general public


  • Review the prevailing methodologies available for anchoring into a concrete superstructure with an emphasis on potential failure points and their impact on the health, safety and welfare of construction workers.


  • An exploration of the use of embedded anchoring systems highlighting both their environmental and construction site safety benefit.


  • Examine and discuss installation methods for embedded anchoring systems.


  • Examine and discuss appropriate applications for embedded anchoring systems.


  • Review projects that have successfully utilized embedded anchoring systems.
