This Costa Mesa custom-designed residence consists of 5,539 s.f. of living space and outdoor entertainment features and a pool. The home exceeds California energy efficiency requirements and integrates design with fire codes.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will review how to meet client expectations, including the use of sustainable materials and the construction process of a durable, energy-efficient home and how these can be integrated into their own designs.
Attendees will discuss the California Residential Green Code requirements and how the architect and contractor integrate them into design and construction.
Attendees will learn about the design process and adherence to fire codes when designing in fire zones, including interior fire bells and sprinkler requirements, and fire-resistive building materials.
Attendees will review the integration of sustainable materials used to run an energy-efficient home that includes indoor air quality, solar options for the home and pool, and water retention basins.
