ASSOCIATE/SR. ASSOCIATE - CONSULTING

Job Description:

Building project team in Orange County (Santa Ana or San Diego), seeking an Associate or Senior Associate - Architect or Engineer Essential Functions  

Job Description/Tasks

• Act as a technical team member and small project lead.

• Collaborate within a Marx|Okubo project team, using your strong technical knowledge to perform field observations, property condition assessment surveys, facility condition assessments.

• Build rapport with the client, internal team, consultants and site contact. 

• Learn and convey and overall understanding of the clients' project(s). 

• Review and analyze building construction and condition, perform building evaluations on existing and new construction. 

• Review and analyze contract documents including drawings, specifications, contracts, and budgets.

• Prepare formal reports.

• Travel to client sites and local offices as needed 25-50%.

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have the ability to:

  • Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain.

  • See and respond to dangerous situations.

  • Respond quickly to sounds.

  • Ascend and descend ladders and stairs.

  • Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas.

  • Operate a computer and other related office equipment, and possess visual acuity to read information from printed sources and computer screens.

  • Lift up to 40 pounds (ladders).

  • Travel approximately 50% of the time both in and out of state

Qualifications, Skills and Experience  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering or similar. 

  • Minimum 5 years' industry related experience for Associate, Minimum 10 years' experience for Senior Associate.

  • Technical level understanding of most building types. 

  •  Thorough understanding of construction processes, activities and scheduling.

  •  Construction administration experience, construction contract types and forms.

  •  Solid understanding of building materials and methods and the technical aspects of building enclosures, structures, and systems .

  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (FFHA and ADA) a plus.

  •  Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Box or equivalent. 

  • High-level organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration. skills 

  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.

Salary

Our culture is open to fresh perspectives, curiosity, and analytical mindsets. The expected salaries for these roles are $90-120k/year for Associates and $120-140k/year for Senior Associates.
