Supervision received is mainly administrative, with assignments based on broad, general objectives and limits. </p>
<p><strong> Duties/ Responsibilities: </strong>Establish budgets, prepare schedules and monitor adherence to terms. Oversee design development and production of working drawings and construction documents on a given project. Has client contact and authority to direct, control and monitor all project activities. </p>
<p><strong>Skills/ Requirements:</strong> Knowledge of healthcare architecture and OSHPD required.  Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team, establish budgets and prepare schedules.  AutoCAD experience.  </p>
<p><strong>Education Requirements:</strong> Licensed architect preferred with a minimum of 7 years knowledge and experience as a project manager.</p>

The Director of Design Technology will work with leadership and our design teams to create a vision for how our Firm will practice and deliver projects now and into the future. To support our current and future practice models, this role will proactively identify and strategically drive the implementation of current and emerging design technology/BIM initiatives and develop standardized processes within our multi-disciplined organization to ensure efficient, progressive, and consistent project delivery. While ensuring day-to-day technology and processes are implemented, this role will also continually pursue process and technology improvement in order to push our design and project delivery to the next level.</p>
<p><strong>Duties/ Responsibilities: </strong>Essential Functions:</p>
<p>• Identifies and evaluates emerging design technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the Firm; advises on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.<br />
• Collaborates with Firm leaders of all disciplines to establish Best Practices and Standards for design technology systems and project delivery and integrate them into the design process Firm-wide.<br />
• Creates and directs design technology strategic plans, policies, training programs, budgets, and schedules, including remote collaboration and resource sharing for seamless, multi-location efficiency.<br />
• Develops the design technology strategic plan, outlining the Firm’s practice models, the technology and personnel that support them, year-to-year budget and goals, and long-term emerging trends and models we need to work towards.<br />
• Integrates not only standards and technology into the process, but also elements that will continually develop and increase the design capabilities and expertise of Lionakis.<br />
• Conceptualizes strategies for improving the efficiency of project delivery through the use of design technology tools (i.e. hardware, software, collaboration technologies, process changes, and design concepts; including BIM, LEAN, IPD, and Project Visualization).<br />
• Develops and oversees internal training program to maintain appropriate levels of efficiency in design technology tools for all levels of technical staff.<br />
• Provides vision, leadership, and rapid deployment oversight to ensure the Firm’s design technology keeps pace and/or stays ahead of business and industry demands.<br />
• Manages vendor/product evaluation and selection process, including oversight and purchase recommendations of design technology products and services; reviews and manages contracts for design technology software licensing, support, and training.<br />
• Oversees ongoing upgrades, research and development, and enhancements to current design technology tools, processes, and systems.<br />
• Collaborates and networks with industry peers, partners, and consultants to expand Firm’s knowledge base, keep us on the cutting edge, and increase our profile.<br />

<p>• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.<br />
• Architectural License preferred.<br />
• 10+ years of A/E/C industry experience with demonstrated experience in the implementation of design technology/BIM integrations in a company.<br />
• Proven experience in design technology management, planning, organization, training, and development, including managing a team responsible for implementation and user support.<br />
• Experience with significant project management and operational support in a multi-location and/or multi-disciplined environment. Understanding of LEAN practices a plus.<br />
• Experience in strategic planning and execution related to design technology or project delivery strategies.<br />
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of people, groups, and experience levels while leading large profile projects in development and coordinating BIM. Will be required to develop key relationships throughout the Firm as a means to deploy Lionakis’ design technology/BIM roadmap.<br />
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required. Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive initiatives.<br />
• Working knowledge of the AIA style contracts and associated implications to traditional industry contract delivery, third-party agreements, and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).</p>
