About Rita S. Carter, AIA

In everything she does, Rita believes in leaving the world a better place through the power of human-centered and equitable design. As an architect and humanitarian, she combines her love for design with her passion for community service, youth education, and team building.

Rita has over 17 years of experience working on a myriad of national and international projects. As a Higher Education Client Leader / Seller-Doer with DLR Group, she focuses on projects that support student success across California Community Colleges and Universities by developing the client’s visions from idea inception through occupancy. She believes project success arises from cultivating personal relationships with her clients and partners built on trust, open communication, exceptional service, and design excellence.

Rita received her Bachelor of Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and her Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. Rita is the recipient of Building Design & Construction Magazine’s 40 under 40 award, class of 2018 as the “Steadfast Educator”, and an Orange County Business Journal Women in Business Nominee in 2000.
